Our narrative takes set in Rome, Italy’s capital, where a love and friendship agreement between a dog and a cat has generated a lot of buzz in the city.
And it is that, contrary to the ancient stupid idea that these two species are naturally antagonistic, this pair has been inseparable since they met at the Parque de la Celulosa, where, unhappily, they were abandoned by their previous caregivers.
The National League for Dog Defense observed the white and fawn canine and his kitty best pal, Snow White. Today, a campaign has been launched by the group for the defense of pet rights to ensure that both be adopted together.
“In the capital, a story of friendship and love between a dog and a cat. We’re hoping that they can be adopted together. “They are inseparable,” a spokeswoman for the Italian rescue agency stated.
The cat followed the dog everywhere he went, in both the sun and the shade. The dog returned the favor by guarding him from other cats who tried to scare or chase him away.
“When other cats in the neighborhood tried to chase the kitten away, the dog would defend it,” they claimed.
Regular visitors to the park where these two small buddies were discovered began leaving them dishes with food when they became aware of their existence, causing the dog and cat to return to the park every day to be fed.
Over time, the same group of unplanned partners agreed to contact Emanuele Faloni, a volunteer from another animal welfare organization, to see if he might help them reclaim the stray dog and cat.
Faloni eagerly agreed to assist, and in order to accomplish his purpose, he constructed a little special cage in which he placed a small amount of food in the hopes that the two of them would become closer and he would be able to trap them without causing them any pain.
However, in addition to the cage, Emanuele built a little house for them to live in. Although the little animals were first wary, as they had not been seen in the region for some days, the residents’ assistance was required for the dog and cat to return.
The dog was the first to fall into the trap, and the cat walked over to see whether his inseparable companion was well and, just in case, stepped into the cage with him so as not to leave him alone.
They’ve been to the vet and healed; all they need now is a loving home to adopt them and look after their well-being and happiness. Surprisingly, and to bring this lovely narrative of mutual camaraderie and empathy to a close, their rescue occurred on February 14, the International Day of Love and Friendship.
