This is the story of Harper and Hayden, two rescued kittens who have faced adversity from the day they were born. They required special care and the patience and love of people who were willing to devote all of their attention to them because of their condition.
Lauren Strycula, a volunteer with the Animal Welfare League of Arlington in the United States, rescued the little kittens in Prince George’s County, Maryland, and cared for them.
Launren welcomed them into his house and was taken aback by how well the two kittens got along. She had this to say about it:
“The Kitten College program, of which I am a member, helps other shelters and organizations throughout Virginia, as well as those in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and West Virginia.” I took up Harper (female tabby) and Hayden (male white with silver stripes) from the shelter when they were eight days old.”
Harper and Hayden spent the day snuggled and guarding each other; whenever one of them was removed for a brief period of time, the other began wailing until they were reunited. With each passing day, these pair of brothers’ friendship became even stronger.
Every time Harper drank from the formula bottle, Hayden followed in her footsteps and ended up emulating her sister.
Lauren observed, “They love to lay on top of each other and fall asleep tangled together.”
Despite the fact that both cats are really attractive, their personalities are very different. They let it be known as time went on. Lauren continued, “In this regard, Lauren added:
“Harper has the loveliest demeanor and enjoys cuddling up against his neck or on his lap. She is a cheerful young lady who constantly appears to be smiling. Hayden is transforming into a flamboyant white tiger that enjoys snuggling up in plush, cozy blankets. He’s a big eater, and nothing makes him happier than sipping her formula and rubbing his pink tummy!”
Both have undergone amazing transformations; they are no longer the innocent newborns that arrived at Lauren’s house with a lot of love to share. They now have a lot of fun playing and going on trips together.
“Rolling onto their backs and licking their ears is their major game.” But it’s not long until they’re racing around the house and getting up to mischief,” Lauren explained.
Lauren finds it thrilling to witness two kittens caring for and caressing one another.
“I’ve only seen a few of kittens bond this early thus far, and I’m really looking forward to seeing their friendship become even stronger as they get older.”
Kittens grow by leaps and bounds and remain inseparable.
