A dog that had been abandoned by its owner was rescued by a firefighter and sent to a shelter. Last week, there was a fire in an apartment building in Santa Monica. When firefighters arrived, they found Nalu, a dog, who was not breathing, not even having a pulse.

Firefighter Andrew Klein told KABC, “I found him amid all the smoke and heat. “I grabbed him, and as soon as I grasped, I knew he was dead,” the speaker said.

Klein put the puppy in an oxygen mask after performing “mouth-to-snout” CPR on him. The dog started breathing on its own after roughly 20 minutes. He became conscious once more and started moving. Eventually, neighbors took him to an animal clinic close by.

Owner Crystal Lamirande arrived home to find her flat on fire; she tried to save Nalu, a Bichon Frise/Shih Tzu mix, but was unable to do so due to the smoke. Lamirande reportedly lost everything in the fire, but she has forged a new connection with her neighborhood fire department, according to KABC.

Since I’ve worked on many similar animal rescues, Klein said KTLA, “That was fairly fantastic because I’ve been on a lot of animal rescues that didn’t pan out the same way that Nalu’s tale did. “Having him back was without a doubt a victory for the entire team and the department,” the squad said.

In 10 minutes, firefighters extinguished the blaze, which caused no injuries to anybody.
