Like one heroic dog, who saved the life of her owner after fighting off an attacking mountain lion.
Dogs are such devoted and caring companions. They are highly intuitive and always react quickly to their owners’ calls for assistance, even when doing so puts them in danger. similar to one brave dog who successfully repelled an approaching mountain lion, saving the life of her owner in the process.
Belgian Malinois Eva, a 2-and-a-half-year-old pet, is Erin Wilson’s cherished companion in Trinity County, California. When the peaceful day quickly turned into a struggle for their lives, the two were merely taking a leisurely stroll by the river.
A mountain lion charged at Erin while roaring and tearing a hole in her jacket, according to the Sacramento Bee. As there was nobody else nearby, Erin yelled for Eva’s assistance, and the devoted dog sprinted over.
Eva, according to Erin, bravely confronted the mountain lion, “hitting that creature extremely hard,” and deflecting the big cat’s attention from Erin. However, the mountain lion “latched on to her head,” putting the dog through a terrible ordeal because it was outmatched. The big cat was quickly returned the favor by Erin, who retaliated with rocks and sticks while yelling for assistance from a passing car, which later pepper sprayed the wild animal to disperse it.
The mountain lion eventually released Eva, but the dog had suffered serious head trauma. Erin told the Sacramento Bee that the woman “had a couple of puncture wounds in her face.” She was also just spitting blood from her lips.
Even though it seemed hopeless, Eva was taken to the hospital and the brave dog survived. Erin created a GoFundMe campaign to assist with Eva’s medical expenses. Erin claims that her hero is recuperating and that the medical professionals are “optimistic.”
Eva, although suffering very serious injuries, saved her owner’s life. “I think it’s fair to say the dog definitely saved her life,” said Capt. Patrick Foy of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
Erin said on GoFundMe, “My puppy is my hero, and I owe her my life.”
