We often hear that dogs are ‘man’s best friend’ and the amount of loyalty that they show is undeniable. At times, that loyalty may even be seen after their owners are gone. A ʜᴇᴀʀᴛʙʀᴇᴀᴋɪɴɢ photograph of a dog waiting at his ʟᴀᴛᴇ ᴏᴡɴᴇʀ’s ʜᴏsᴘɪᴛᴀʟ ʙᴇᴅ has seen a number of would-be owners come forward to adopt him.
The sᴀᴅ puppy had finally found a home, but his father ᴅɪᴇᴅ of ᴄᴀɴᴄᴇʀ a year later. Unfortunately, Moose had no idea that his father had ᴅɪᴇᴅ, and all he knew was that he needed to be patient and wait. Poor Moose sat by the ʜᴏsᴘɪᴛᴀʟ ʙᴇᴅ for a while, loyally waiting for his owner to return. Someone captured the ᴛᴏᴜᴄʜɪɴɢ moment in a photo, and it’s so ʜᴇᴀʀᴛʙʀᴇᴀᴋɪɴɢ that it went viral. Despite the fact that his beloved human will never return, he remains in the hope that a ᴍɪʀᴀᴄʟᴇ will occur.
Eleventh Hour Rᴇsᴄᴜᴇ volunteers were ᴅᴇᴠᴀsᴛᴀᴛᴇᴅ, and they soon brought Moose into their shelter. Everyone at the shelter adored Moose and worked tirelessly to ensure that he was adopted as quickly as possible. NorthStar Pet Rᴇsᴄᴜᴇ and Eleventh Hour Rᴇsᴄᴜᴇ both posted the photo on Facebook, hoping that it would help attract a new family for Moose. One glance at this picture, and you can tell what a loyal, loving pup he is. The caption said: “He’s a sweet happy boy by nature. He just needs people to help his ʜᴇᴀʀᴛ ʜᴇᴀʟ. Saying goodbye to a pet isn’t easy, and the process isn’t any easier when things are the other way around. It’s hard to prove whether or not dogs “ɢʀɪᴇᴠᴇ” in the human sense of the word because they can’t communicate their feelings to us out loud, but it’s very clear that they’re affected by the ᴅᴇᴀᴛʜs of their companions. Pet owners often notice their dogs seem down or anxious when a companion ɢᴏᴇs ᴀᴡᴀʏ or ᴅɪᴇs. The animals might become clingy, disinterested, or ʟᴇᴛʜᴀʀɢɪᴄ. Sometimes, dogs make their grief extremely clear to the point that it’s ʜᴇᴀʀᴛʙʀᴇᴀᴋɪɴɢ to watch.
