Hundreds of people walked by mother dog abandoned in train station… After an hour, the perfect person finally stopped.
A young dog was heartlessly chained to a railing at a Brooklyn subway station and abandoned, plainly employed as a breeding machine for as long as she was functional. Hundreds of people passed by without even looking at her, but one woman eventually stopped to help, and Betsey is now secure and comfortable for the first time in perhaps her whole life.
She’s just two years old, but she’s been producing pups for as long as she’s been old enough. Walking is uncomfortable due to her overgrown nails, and the pressure sores on her joints indicate that she has been forced to lie down virtually all of the time. Being abandoned on a busy metro station during rush hour must have been terrifying.

Every day, hundreds of passengers pass through Brooklyn’s Atlantic station, yet just one paused to pay notice to this girl. Her prior owner had abandoned her with nothing but a trash bag as a bed, and she was still wearing a prong collar.
“It was discovered that she had been there for at least an hour and nobody had called the cops or animal control,” Mr. Bones & Co. animal rescue’s Marisa Grimshaw told The Dodo. “So we can only guess how many people passed past her — I’m sure they didn’t think that was normal, but they also didn’t feel forced to stop and help her.”
Sarah Borok was driving home from work when she noticed the frightened dog and felt she had to help. She called the incident to the police, who notified animal control. Borok waited for them with the “throwaway mom.” Betsey, the dog, was adopted from a shelter in Brooklyn.
“Betsey was timid and bashful. Staff at the shelter, on the other hand, were unconcerned about her conduct. “She let other dogs smell her and wagged her tail,” Grimshaw stated.
Borok paid her a visit the next day to check how she was doing.
“Betsey was overjoyed to see her the next day at the shelter and remembered her,” Grimshaw added.
This girl is in desperate need of relaxation and pampering. She looks to have had multiple litters, since her feet are filthy and she has some sort of muck ingrained in her fur. But she’s currently being cared for after Mr. Bones rescued her from the shelter.
She was allowed to spend her first night with Borok before being placed in a foster family. It’s a bad she can’t adopt Betsey because they appear to get along well, but it’s simply not in the cards. She will be available for adoption shortly and will require a home with patient people who appreciate her lack of dog experience: leashes, toys, and rewards confuse her.

“She’s really kind,” Grimshaw remarked. “She lets everyone she encounters pet her, and she’s always ready to get pets from everyone.” When she encounters other dogs, she becomes excited and wags her tail.”
