Simon is an adorable and sweet tabby cat who lives with her mom in Los Angeles. However, he was never interested in making friends, even when he had a lot of opportunities to socialize with other cats at a cat café Crumbs & Whiskers.
“He’s definitely used to other animals,” Mackenzie Coffman, Simon’s mom, told The Dodo, “but never really played with the other cats in the café.”
One day, Coffman noticed Simon looking at an indifferent-looking cat in a neighboring building.

“I was in bed and I woke up to Simon whining at the window,” Coffman said. “I looked up and to my surprise saw a cat sitting in my neighbor’s window. I’ve lived in this apartment for two years and have never seen their cat.”
As the day went by, Simon continued staring out the window towards the neighbor cat but the girl didn’t seem to notice him.

“The other cat never really looked at Simon or paid attention to him,” Coffman said. “So Simon would jump up and down in the windowsill to try to get his attention.”

Coffman had never seen Simon behave like this before, and she thought that her cat fell in love with the neighbor’s cat. For this reason, she decided to take matters into her own hands, wrote out a note and stuck it on her window. The note said: “What is your cat’s name? Love, Simon.”
Not that long after, Coffman’s neighbor wrote a heartwarming message back: ‘Hi Simon, I’m Theo. Your my best friend.’
Coffman loved this message, so she took some pictures of Simon and posted them on her Twitter page. The tweet quickly went viral, and everyone loved seeing Simon and Theo interact.

Coffman added Theo’s mom on Twitter, and they began talking. They decided to organize a meet-and-greet for the cats, and Simon couldn’t be more excited. After weeks of longing looks through the windowpane, Simon will finally meet his beloved.
Coffman brought Simon to Theo’s apartment.
“We think it went as well as it can with cats! Only a couple hisses, no fights, and lots of butt-sniffs. Thank u all for following along!” Coffman wrote.
Thanks to their cats, these two women became fast friends!
