Florencia Lobo and her brother were enjoying a walk through the Tucuman Province in the South American country, when they came across two kittens in desperate need of help. The two tiny felines were on the side of a country road, next to a lifeless cat, who Florencia assumed to be their mother. The woman has rescued both kittens!
“We thought that it was an abandoned cat who had given birth,” the caring woman explained to the Reuters. However, despite her efforts, one of the kittens didn’t made it as it was too weak, but the another fully recovered and started to thrive under the care of Florencia.
Two months after the rescue, the woman decided to take Tito – how she named the surviving kitten – to the vet for a routine check. It is when Florencia was surprised to learn that Tito isn’t a house kitten, but a wild feline. She found out she actually rescued a puma.
“The vet didn’t know what it was but said it was not a normal cat,” the woman said.
Florencia then took Tito to the Horco Molle, a natural reserve, where they confirmed the “kitten” was actually a jaguarundi – a wild cat native to the South America. The feline remained at the nature reserve.
