When several folks out feeding stray cats discovered a gorgeous orange cat with a wounded leg, their hearts went out to him right away. They could tell he was in pain and didn’t want him to suffer any longer, so they decided the best course of action would be to take him to the vet and have him put down.
Veterinary surgeon Dr. Matt McGlasson, on the other hand, had different ideas.
Dr. McGlasson told The Dodo, “My staff knows I have a soft spot for cats – we actually rеscuеd and treated four kittens during COVID when our kids were completing school from home.” “They requested that the customer sign over the cat to me.”
Dr. McGlasson recognized there was no need to put the cat down after inspecting him, so he opted to fix him first and then find him the right forever home.
With the help of his TikTok followers, Dr. McGlasson decided to name the sweet cat Nemo. Unfortunately, Nemo’s leg was injured beyond repair and had to be amputated, but luckily the surgery went well, and everyone was eager to help Nemo adjust to life as a three-legged cat.
As Nemo healed, it was clear that he was so grateful to everyone for taking such good care of him.
Dr. McGlasson described him as “the sweetest cat you’d ever meet.” “[He] cares for everyone.”
Dr. McGlasson wasn’t sure he was in a position to adơрt Nemo because he already had cats at home, but one of the vet techs fell in love with him and became his permanent home.
“He’s doing fantastic,” stated Dr. McGlasson. “He enjoys being a home cat and travels well on three legs.”
When Nemo initially came at the veterinarian’s office, everyone agreed that he deserved a chance to live a happy life in a forever home, and that’s precisely what he got.
