Cathleen, a six-year-old dog, was sadly given up by her family due to their relocation. She was then handed over to a new owner in Prague, Oklahoma, which was around 20 miles away from her previous home. Being with her old family since she was a little puppy, Cathleen missed them dearly. Therefore, the smart and determined pooch made a bold move by stepping out of her new yard and onto the road last week, on her way to go back to her real home.

According to Seminole Humane Society treasurer Marta Mattingly, Cathleen was found wandering in the area where she used to live by the animal control. It was evident that she missed her old family, but they didn’t reciprocate her feelings. The mystery of how she managed to travel 20 miles alone remains unsolved. Although her new owner tried to keep her, she was so determined to reunite with her previous family that she went back to them a few days later. To ensure her safety, she was placed in a more secure home farther away from her old family. After being examined by a veterinarian, Cathleen was deemed healthy and was quickly adopted. She won the hearts of the staff at the shelter and received numerous applications for adoption. Mattingly described her as a calm and friendly dog who gets along well with other dogs and all humans.

Cathleen was deeply saddened by the departure of her former owners. However, there are good news for her as she has a new family waiting to shower her with love and affection. She will be picked up in the coming days, and she’ll have four furry siblings to play with in Texas. Additionally, she’ll have some young companions to run around and snuggle with. Most importantly, Cathleen will have access to a secure, enclosed yard with vast open spaces to explore to her heart’s content. Mattingly is convinced that Cathleen will have a wonderful time with her new family.

Mattingly expressed amazement at the number of individuals who were willing to travel long distances just to adopt Cathleen. While the team received several excellent submissions from all over the place, they only had one Cathleen. Ultimately, they were able to find the ideal family for her.
